Alex Broun
Alex fell in love with theatre from the first class he ever attended at ATYP in Sydney, Australia, where he studied alongside talented actors such as Nicole Kidman. He has worked in well-known Australian TV shows and films such as Neighbours, Home and Away, and Heartbreak High. In his mid-20s, Alex began to focus more on his first loves – writing and directing – winning numerous playwriting and screenwriting awards and directing acclaimed productions across the globe of plays, musicals, and short films.
Now firmly established as one of the UAE’s top acting teachers, Alex is very excited about sharing what he has learned with students of all ages at StudioRepublik in acting, writing, and directing for theatre film.

PROGRAM PATHWAY
1.
InterAct (3-5 YRS)
These classes are for students aged 3 to 5. We use innovative, interactive, and practical exercises, improvisation, and drama games to develop their self-confidence and communication skills to thrive in daily life.
2.
Rise & Shine (6-8 YRS)
In this fun program, kids get to play characters, create stories, and discover situations. Our mentors enable them to explore a range of emotions, forms of expression, develop a strong speaking voice and good body language—for ages 6 to 8.
3.
Big & Bold (9-11 YRS)
Drama is the key to growth, listening, participation, being part of a team, telling a story, and communicating effectively. Big & Bold, for ages 9 to 11, focuses on developing our students’ emotional, physical, and mental capabilities through carefully curated exercise and games.
4.
In The Mix (12-16 YRS)
This course, designed for young adults (ages 12 to 16), focuses on helping them feel understood and supported as they hone their acting craft and develop their technique. In this class, they explore their imaginations, emotions, and feelings through positive reinforcement and structured methods.

The assessment is less than 30 minutes and involves going through a few basic moves to analyze your child’s level. After that, we’re ready to roll.

ASSESSMENT
Before we start, we carefully assess each child’s specific skills & performance in their chosen discipline. This helps us know exactly where they belong.
PROGRAMmING
These programs are designed in advance for every level by experienced, ex-elite coaches. And you, as parents, can see what challenges are coming up in each week of term and which objectives your child will be working on.
PROGRESS TRACKING
We then track the development of their skills throughout the term, following which ones are improving—and more importantly, which ones aren’t. This honest and detailed approach helps them improve much more consistently, and perfect skills that last a lifetime.
EVALUATION
At the end of each term, we can give them clear targets to focus on, allowing you to help them hone some skills at home, or in 1-1 classes with our specialists. Eventually, when they’re ready, they progress to the next level—or are reallocated to the class that’s best for them.
