Pre Primary to Primary
RAD Pre-Primary Ballet is the first grade of the Royal Academy of Dance syllabus. It is designed for young children to enjoy a fun, creative ballet class while developing fundamental skills required for classical ballet. Dancers will begin to learn the basic ballet positions and steps such as 1st position and a demi plié, and continue developing their motor skills such as skipping, jumping and galloping. RAD Primary Ballet seamlessly follows the previous grade and advance the children to learn more classical ballet movements and skills. The exercises are designed to develop more coordination and musicality while keeping children engaged, happy and having fun!
RAD - Grade 1 - Grade 8
The RAD graded syllabus will introduce more technical ballet steps, focusing on expression and the joy of dance! The exercises have been carefully created for all abilities. Through these classes, your child will develop their strength and posture, musicality, expression and emotional awareness and more. Annually your child will advance through the grades with an optional examination and each level will be more challenging. These grades are suitable for the recreational dancer and the dancer who has their sights set on a career in performing arts!
RAD Vocational Grades
The RAD vocational grades are more technical and are an in-depth study of ballet. The training syllabus is crafted to prepare the student for a professional dance career. Students will be hand-selected to attend these classes. Those who are selected should be excelling in their graded class and be dedicated to their ballet studies. Intermediate Foundation is the first grade, where students must be at least 10 years. Pointe work will also be introduced to this grade. Intermediate, Advanced Foundation, Advanced 1, Advanced 2 & Solo Seal are the grades that follow.

The assessment is less than 30 minutes and involves going through a few basic moves to analyze your child’s level. After that, we’re ready to roll.
BOOK YOUR child's ASSESsMENT
Before we start, we carefully assess each child’s specific skills & performance in their chosen discipline. This helps us know exactly where they belong.
These programs are designed in advance for every level by experienced, ex-elite coaches. And you, as parents, can see what challenges are coming up in each week of term and which objectives your child will be working on.
We then track the development of their skills throughout the term, following which ones are improving—and more importantly, which ones aren’t. This honest and detailed approach helps them improve much more consistently, and perfect skills that last a lifetime.
At the end of each term, we can give them clear targets to focus on, allowing you to help them hone some skills at home, or in 1-1 classes with our specialists. Eventually, when they’re ready, they progress to the next level—or are reallocated to the class that’s best for them.
